episode 72: 072 - The Hannah House


When you think of Indiana, the last image you think of could hauntings. Images of the Indy 500, corn, Indiana Beach, and perhaps the home of Bob After Dark may come to mind. Well, nestled in the states capital in Indianapolis is a historic home built in 1858 by Alexander Hannah. This beautiful home still stands today as a relic of the era. Wide open rooms, old furniture, and the original carpeting still sit the home today. Thinking past the architectural aspects of the house, the idea that this place fits every stereotype of a classic haunted house story. If that was your thought, then you would be absolutely correct. The original residents of the house are still said to be inhabiting the home, and others as well. Upon further inspection, you find out the basement of the home was used to hide slaves away as they escaped slavery of the south, and move them along on the final parts of freedom of the north.
