How DeAndre Jordan Fits with the Lakers, and Nets vs. Lakers (Guest: Doug Norrie, Locked On Nets)

New center DeAndre Jordan has been a polarizing acquisition among Lakers fans and media. To some, he's seen as a continuation of what worked during the 2020 championship season, where the Lakers overwhelmed opponents with size, rebounding and paint points, playing two traditional centers alongside Anthony Davis. To others, he's a washed retread "name" that exacerbates the Lakers' spacing issues, prevents Davis from playing the proper amount at the five, and poorly replaced Marc Gasol. That he's coming off a DNP-TheEntirePlayoffs for Brooklyn doesn't help matters. Plus, the Nets didn't want him, and they're now viewed as the Lakers' chief rival and inevitable Finals opponent. So what's the appeal to Rob Pelinka?

To find out more, the Kamenetzkys talked with Doug Norrie, who covers Brooklyn's squad as the co-host of Locked on Nets. How did Jordan actually play last season? How much does he still have in the tank? How much utility can he still offer a team? Does he make sense for the Lakers? And does Norrie picture the championship clash that everyone wants to see?

Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky

SEGMENT 1: What happened with Jordan over the course of two seasons in Brooklyn to explain his dwindling playing time and eventual exit? Doug Norrie offers his take.

SEGMENT 2: More from Norrie about Jordan's effectiveness on both sides of the ball. Does he have a role with the Lakers?

SEGMENT 3: A look at the anticipated rivalry between the Nets and Lakers, and how they could match up on the court.
