Hello and Welcome to the Mindset and Self-Mastery show! I’m your host, Nick McGowan and on the show today we have Jose Rosado.

Jose is a behavioral health clinician and adjunct professor in Maryland who has battled ADHD, Depression, and a false diagnosis of bipolar all of which led him to become a loved husband, father, friend, and recovery peer.

Listen close as we unpack the stories that have shaped him and how he leads himself, peers, and clients toward a healthy life.

Guest Name & Bio: Jose Rosado

Jose is a Maryland transplant by way of Philadelphia, who after 10+ years working as a professional portrait photographer and marketing professional, switched careers once he realized a passion for mental health and recovery. Formerly an Executive Director of a wellness & recovery center, Jose is now an SOR Peer Programs Administrator within the Maryland Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), overseeing all State Opioid Response (SOR) related Peer Workforce Programs throughout Maryland.

In regards to higher education, professionally, Jose serves as Adjunct Faculty at Towson University in the Psychology Department, teaching Abnormal Psychology. Previously, Jose has served as Participating Faculty at the University of Baltimore teaching Entrepreneurship & Digital Marketing. Personally, Jose received his Bachelors & MBA from Iona College in New York (’06 & ’08) and received his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University ('21). 

Jose works with adults, young-adults, couples, as well as families both clinically and within the community, specifically with his Peer Recovery Specialist work over the last five years. Jose has experience in facilitating clinical services in both community services/nonprofit settings as well as private practice, along with working with families of incarcerated individuals and those reentering their community after incarceration.

Another personal endeavor near to him, Creatives Against Depression, is an initiative helping raise awareness for mental health among people in the creative arts and starting a larger conversation to let people struggling know they are not alone.
