The Deep

After 2 years of hosting The Deep and holding space for others, I'm ready to share with you one of the traumas that I lived through. When I was younger, I became a victim of domestic violence. I was manipulated, isolated, physically and sexually abused until I didn't know who I was anymore. But I got out. Somehow. And this is my story.Sean Szeps holds this conversation. Someone I trust and tell all my secrets to.Please note. During this chat I may sound guarded or at times unemotional. I know that this is still a trauma response. Because of legal reasons I can't reveal the identity of my abuser so some things need to stay private. It makes this a difficult conversation because I can't share everything that I want to. What I am doing is sharing the full extent of this abusive relationship for the first time ever.Content warning; This episode discusses domestic abuse, physical and sexual abuse, and suicide. episode 2: The Bodzilla

Today I speak to The Bodzilla also known as April. She is a trailblazer. A woman that has created a space for body acceptance and fat positivity. We are talking about Fat.. the shame, the stigma, the attitudes towards it and how we need to banish Fat being bad. This is a really honest conversation between two very different women, our relationships with our bodies and how we need to change the narrative around the word FAT.
Content warning: This episode discusses child abuse, restrictive eating, weight loss and eating disorders. For assistance please contact The Butterfly Foundation on 1800 33 4673.
