episode 72: Ep 72: Athlete Feature: Nihal Baig on his Marathon Journey from 3:19 to 2:31hrs, Principles of Progression and Performance Improvements


In this episode of Run with Fitpage, we were joined by none other than Nihal Ahmed Baig. Nihal started his running journey with IIT Bombay and won various medals across different events and was named the best athlete among all IITs. As Nihal got entered the corporate world he transitioned to doing marathons and triathlons.
His first marathon time was 3:19. Nihal is a two-time Ironman World Championship Qualifier with several podiums in the format. His personal best in a marathon is two hours 31 minutes, which won him first place in New Delhi and Apla Pune marathons in the year 2021. Nihal currently does a full-time job and also runs his new coaching/training venture named 'The Whole Athlete'.

Vikas hosts this weekly podcast and enjoys nerding over-exercise physiology, nutrition, and endurance sport in general.  He aims to get people to get out and 'move'.  When he is not working, he is found running, almost always.  He can be found on nearly all social media channels but Instagram is preferred @vikas_singhh.
