England is full of places that would call themselves the "oldest" or "longest continuously operating" and plenty that would claim "the most haunted".  Old buildings, and history of wars, violence, and individual traumas all lend to a the types of places we think of as haunted.  Ernie Boxall will give you all the reasons that Tudor World in Stratford Upon Avon is at least one of the most haunted buildings in England.  In his role as Ghostly Guide he regales visitors with the tells of spirits reaching out to the living, and the circumstances that created them.
