An Ennis Councillor fears too many obstacles stand in the way of the community nursing unit going ahead at the Turnpike site. Clare County Council has expressed 'serious concerns' that the €25m HSE plan for a 100 bed elderly care unit on lands at St Flannan’s College may prejudice the future expansion of the secondary school. The local authority has told the executive it's putting the project on hold. Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Daly has been telling Clare FM's Rebecca O'Sullivan he believes the HSE should reconsider building the development at the existing St. Joseph's Hospital site.
