Movie Fighters

Chris Sims and Matt Wilson love movies. The kinds you would pick up on VHS on a Friday afternoon and have to watch that weekend, no matter how terrible it was. They also love to hate them. Movie Fighters is a celebration of that. Each episode, they watch a movie, recap it, and try to make sense of it. They often don't. Episode 62: VS The Punisher (1989)

We're back with another unsung Dolph Lundgren film! This time out, we're watching the first-ever movie adaptation of The Punisher, which was released direct-to-video in the United States. It's not a great movie, but it's a pretty shockingly accurate depiction of the late-80s Punisher, as he takes on Eurotrash and Samurai while saving kids from being sold into slavery. It's kind of the perfect VHS action movie. Plus, Movie Fighters favorite Louis Gossett Jr.! You'll have to grab a DVD to watch along with us, but it's worth it!
