LeBron, Anthony Davis and the Lakers Finish the Road Trip 3-3, Beat Pistons 124-117

The Lakers needed a win Sunday to finish off their first extended road trip at 3-3, and behind strong performances from Anthony Davis (34/15/7/2/1) and LeBron James (35/5/5, plus a steal), who combined to shoot 26-42 from the floor as L.A. knocked off Detroit 123-117. They left town four games under .500, and return four games under .500. That was a fair goal before the trip started... so why does the result feel vaguely disappointing?

What about the game itself? While Davis finished with strong numbers, the Lakers actually played well in the first half without the team having to rely on AD carrying them. The two-man game between LeBron and Russell Westbrook was particularly effective, which is always a welcome sight given how much that pairing has struggled together. Lonnie Walker looked good, and Austin Reaves nailed a couple massive three-pointers. The Lakers also got the full Pat Beverley experience (good and bad) and may have watched an incredibly effective and compelling audition from Detroit's Bojan Bogdanovic, who finished with 38 points.

He's at about 37.5% for the season. Is it safe to buy Reaves as a legit three-point threat? Because the ceiling on Reaves as a player goes up as his perimeter shooting rises.

Finally, while Westbrook didn't play the fourth. Not just the end of the fourth, but the entire quarter. And interestingly enough, it wasn't a big talking point after the game. So two questions - first, why was Russ benched, and second, what does it mean that it wasn't a headline after?

HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky

SEGMENT 1: The Lakers finish 3-3 on the trip. A good result, if not slightly disappointing.

SEGMENT 2: Why it matters the Lakers were productive early without having to rely on A.D... plus talking the full Pat Bev experience, and Austin Reaves, 3-point shooter?

SEGMENT 3: Russ sits in the fourth. Why, and why wasn't it a big talking point after the game?
