Shannon Pharmacist Hopeful Predicted Spike In Flu This Christmas Won't Swamp Hospitals
A Shannon pharmacist is hopeful that the predicted spike in flu cases this winter won't swamp the region's main hospital. Feidhlim Hillery, of Hillery's Pharmacy in Shannon town, is warning that the rise in influenza cases in Australia is likely to be mirrored here. He's advising anyone who has yet to do so, to get their flu vaccine. Feidhlim, who's also a member of the Irish Pharmacy Union, says the colder weather will inevitably lead to more flu, chest infections and other respiratory illnesses.
