The business of being a creator is becoming more complex every day, and if you want a shot at running with the big players, you’re going to want someone like Reed Duchsher in your corner. As the founding CEO of the Night Media talent agency, Reed represents some of the biggest creators on the platform – people like Mr. Beast, Hasan Piker, and even TCU alumnus Jschlatt couldn’t do what they do without him in their corner.

We start off by asking Reed about his time working in football of all things, and the key differences between collaborating with NFL stars and YouTubers. He sheds some light on the unmatched entrepreneurial spirit of creators today, and we dive into how that’s changed over the years.

We talk pretty regularly about the importance of working with other people, no matter what your project is, and nobody exemplifies that better than Reed. There are so many roles that need to be filled on a creator’s team, and he gives us some insight into how he’s built a system to satisfy that and create real, long-term success.

There’s been a lot of uncertainty about the future of content creation with short form content in the mix, but Reed is as optimistic as ever. He drops some hard knowledge as to why now more than ever is the best time to create, and provides some pretty easy to follow steps for our smaller creators in the audience, as well as those who may feel like they’ve hit their peak.

We’re at an interesting point in entertainment history where artists are expected not only to create, but to be good people more than they ever have been. Reed talks about what it’s like to manage artists and creatives at a time like this, and how to work with the scrutiny of the public eye.

The landscape for online media is constantly changing, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon. Kevin talks about his theory of the end of good content ideas, and Reed shares his thoughts on the hierarchy of YouTube in general.

We round out the episode with some questions from our patrons who want to know about the balance of quality and quantity, the threat of YouTube demonetization, and the biggest creator RED FLAGS.

Thanks to everyone who joined us live, and to our patrons who make this show happen. We’ll see you all next week for a thrilling episode with CADDICARUS!
