After watching hundreds of women graduate from our women’s health program, The Wild Collective, Dr. Erin Ley could see a big gap in women’s health care.
“Not only were the women unaware of their own cycles, health, and anatomy, they could see that they needed to give this information to their young teens.”
Erin is on a mission to teach teens about their menstrual health, what’s normal and how to advocate for themselves in their healthcare. She knows that parents and teens alike need more support in this area, and in this episode, we break down the most common myths about teen menstrual health and how parents can teach teens about what to look for in their menstrual cycle.
Erin has developed an at-home learning course for parents and teens that breaks down the embarrassment factor while delivering doctor-grade information to both parents and young menstruators. Period Talk is an online do-it-yourself program to help both parents and teens feel more confident about menstrual health (and we know that the adults will learn just as much as the teens).
