episode 74: Stress and Your Pelvic Floor. When you can’t hold it in any longer.

There isn’t a body system that stress doesn’t impact, and in this episode, we dive deep into how stress impacts the pelvic floor and contributes to pain and urinary symptoms in women. I’m joined by Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist and the owner of Body Co. in Toronto Melanie Sutherland and we share our experiences working with overworked women and the impact this has on her urinary incontinence and pain with sex. This episode isn’t just for women who have “had a baby” and we break down the myths around pelvic floor challenges being something women have to live with, or an inevitable consequence of childbirth.

Melanie has written a guide called the 5 Ways to Take Back Your Pelvic Health a.k.a. Avoid Incontinence, Reduce Pain and Start Having Better Sex that you can download here.
