This week we're joined by Joe Walser the man behind the restoration of the Time Machine (DeLorean) from Back to the Future. Matt fully indulges in the most obscure details of Joe's adventure in restoring the movie car. Joe also gives us a crash course on the multitude of supply houses used for prop creation that helped out with the restoration effort.
We're joined once again by everybody's favorite fabricator, off-road racing, world speed record holder Jessi Combs. Jessi shares her tales of Baja, King of Hammers and some details about I Am The Real Deal a coalition of women in automotive and industrial businesses that encourage women to pursue their love of industrial and automotive jobs and interests.
Jonathan Ward of Icon joins us once again; this time in the newly built Chevy Thrifmaster Derelict. We of course talk about what is cooking at Icon these days but Jonathan also fills us in on his current time at the Art Center College of Design and the finer details in Koenigsegg and Pagani carbon work. In addition Matt reviews the Superformance GT40 the Luftgekühlt Porsche event is discussed and Jonathan promotes the Cars and Casino night for the Go Campaign.
Our old friend Aaron Gold joins us once again, this time we almost sort-of get on the topic of the automotive industry. In the mean time, Aaron shares stories from when he worked for Gale Banks, the difference between and exhaust brake and jake brake, the finer points of horse ownership, how Android is snooping on our conversations, Matt's mother's minor obsession with writing instruction manuals, and of course knock-off GoPros.
Our old friend Vinny Russo now of Maserati stops by for a rare afternoon podcast. Matt gives us his take on the new 718 Boxster after a trip to Portugal with Porsche, Vinny dishes out info on the new Maserati Levante crossover, we lust over Buick Rivieras, Thad mispronounces milk and we debate if given the chance would be buy our first cars over again.
Joining us this week is Jason Fenske (@JasonFenske13) but you guys know him best as the guy on Engineering Explained on YouTube. Jason gives us his background story, we discuss the growth of the channel and he of course schools us all on a couple topics. Matt and Zack spent some quality time with the new GT350R, BMW M2, Cayman GT4, CTS-V, ATS-V and F-Type R. Opinions are of course shared, we also discuss the merits of the 240SX, how great the new Honda Civic is and we bow to the rolling throne of madness that is the McLaren 675LT.
Taking a break from drop-bears, home built rally cars, and rogue Darbys this week we're joined by Andrew Lamb and Caswal Parker of Camshaft Sofware the company behind Automation. If your memory is up to snuff you may remember these guys from the New Zealand adventures last year; this time they're stateside and heading to GDC in San Francisco. In addition we're joined by Thad fresh off a flight from the UAE where he has been working for the last month.
What do you do after you've done countless road rallies and ran a successful exotic car rental company? You do crazy things in cheap beater cars. That's what our friend, Rob Ferretti, does. We couldn't believe the quality of cars he bought, and what he did to them in Florida. Wow.
