I've started thinking about prizes and swag to give away in the 2024 membership drive, but it could be a chaotic drive this year with me uploading shows while tethered to my phone. Possibility of a move coming up and I'll need to get my ducks in a row to have a nice seamless "transfer" like I did in 2019. I've also been toying with Sanctuary sets. Can't go full retro. I've done a lot of stuff since that place closed in 2001...

First off apologies to folks for having to miss last weekends Risque. I went all the way to Washington DC just to get sick. But my hosts were wonderful, and I know that much fun was had even in my absence. Plus I still managed to get a chance to hang out with David Chamberlain from Entrzelle for a couple of hours. Add all that together, plus some time to recuperate and I'm back at 100%...

Getting ready for labour day as we take a day off and celebrate those workers who fought for stuff we take for granted, like a 40 hour work week. Now if we could only do something about vacations in North America. Took me 12 years to get a "European" length of vacation time, and if I'm *really* lucky I'll get some more time at year 15. But I'll probably be laid off before then anyhow! So lets all enjoy some great music and forget about work...

Labour day slowly approaches, and with it the feeling that "Summer is over." But Fall is the best time of year for breaking out the dark clothing and that leather jacket thats been in the back of your closet for almost a year. Pasty white flesh is going to be the norm again, so we can rejoice and still put on SPF 50 because skin cancer is no joke...

I'm supposed to be finishing the web site updates so that I can get this weeks show posted, but I find myself browsing through my music collection looking for new and forgotten tracks to pull out of my sleeve. One of the things about posting your live sets online (check out out Mixcloud) is that you're forced to get more creative and not just reach into the well and try to avoid the comfortable...

I didn't have a long weekend to blame, but I did get outside and enjoy a nice Canadian summer this weekend. BBQ with friends, a food festival on Sunday, now I just need a weekend to recover from the weekend. But before I can start recovering I have to get RSA posted for everyones work week. Or vacation...

Its a long weekend here in Canada, so I've decided to be a bit sneaky. I'm posting the show on the "normal" Sunday, but I'm taking today off and enjoying some downtime. So I'll get the show posted on Sunday (as a few eagle eyed people will notice) and doing all of the "publicity" Monday morning. Heck, I used to post the shows on Mondays during cycling season. Slowly getting back on that horse...

The heat has broken for a few days, so I can work on RSA in a nice sunny room with the windows open again. I mean loud music is meant to be shared with all of your neighbours, right? As mentioned in this show, my dance card is filling up for the fall. I'll be appearing at RISQUE in Washington DC on September 9th, and a Sanctuary reunion on October 7th...

Spent the afternoon yesterday going over my remaining vacation days at work and figuring out if I can squeeze a gig or two out for 2023. The last time I was asked I was in a very bad mental state, and the prices to fly to the US haven't exactly gone down recently. So I have some decisions to make. Can I afford to lose more brain cells that a night or three of partying will destroy? This week I also take a moment to talk about my involvement with the ENGin program...

Another fine summer week spent listening to new music while working and trying to stay cool. I can hardly wait until my renoviction is over and I can move back to my "new" building next year. I hate wearing headphones while listening to music, I like the ambience of feeling the music in the room as well. But with a portable air conditioner next to me its either headphones or bake. Soon enough I'll be complaining about the cold as is the tradition in Canada...
