Spent the afternoon yesterday going over my remaining vacation days at work and figuring out if I can squeeze a gig or two out for 2023. The last time I was asked I was in a very bad mental state, and the prices to fly to the US haven't exactly gone down recently. So I have some decisions to make. Can I afford to lose more brain cells that a night or three of partying will destroy? This week I also take a moment to talk about my involvement with the ENGin program...

Another fine summer week spent listening to new music while working and trying to stay cool. I can hardly wait until my renoviction is over and I can move back to my "new" building next year. I hate wearing headphones while listening to music, I like the ambience of feeling the music in the room as well. But with a portable air conditioner next to me its either headphones or bake. Soon enough I'll be complaining about the cold as is the tradition in Canada...

A short work week behind us, and I managed to get sick again on Thursday! But I'm luckily still a Covid virgin, so it only kept me down for a few days. Now I just ration a bit of vertical time over the weekend so I can recover and get important stuff like RSA completed. I've really gotta start watching what I eat, there's something I think I'm sensitive too...

A great show for everyone as most people in North America have a long-ish weekend with Canada Day and Independence Day so close together. Yes this time every year we celebrate the sacrifice that Randy Quaid made in 1996 to keep earth safe from the alien invaders. Also, the USA does something. Not quite sure what...

If last weeks show was minimalist, this weeks is anything but. We run the gamut from Terror EBM to Techno Industrial to ... Ominous EBM? Not quite terror EBM, but not exactly Front 242 either. Lord help me, I swear I knew all of the pigeon holes we put music into and drew a blank on 1 or 2. Well thats perfectly acceptable when I've been editing music, but when I'm doing my "QA listen" I really should be able to figure this stuff out. When in doubt, just slap 2 existing genres together...

This weeks show is the result of me keeping an eye on the "minimalist" synthpop I've gotten my hands on over the last several months. Well, that and the inevitable "We're half way into the year, there shouldn't be any 2022 releases left in your inbox!" I'm sure at this point you can imagine that while well organized, I do have a mind like a sieve. So this week long laid plans came to fruition, not "Todd completely forgot!" Honest...

A drizzly "English" Sunday gives me lots of time to work on RSA and get some small projects complete around the house. I always "Proof Read" the shows before the final mix, and I was able to listen for "Oh dear I messed that one up" moments while doing mundane tasks like taking the recycling out...

A beautiful Sunday morning in Canada, and its the perfect time to get this weeks show out to everyone so I can go for a nice walk and listen to the show at the same time! This week we seem to have centered into a nice Technopop set with some great beats to dance to in your head while working, or whatever it is you do while listening to RSA...

Well I grossly underestimated how much running around from place to place I'd be doing on my European vacation. Enough that I realized fairly quickly that I had bitten off WAY more than I could chew. Wound up coming back early as the lack of sleep (and absolutely atrocious hotel breakfast food) caused me to start getting sick. I realized that I couldn't handle being sick in a hotel room in Berlin when everything is closed on a Sunday and Monday is a public holiday...

So by the time this show is "official" on the 15th, I'll be on my way to Belgium. Home of ground breaking music, chocolate, and Herge. I'm taking a minimal setup with me, but enough to be able to work on RSA while I'm away. I look forward to doing some mixing in an Amsterdam coffee shop...
