This week Matt reviews the Cobb Ecoboost Mustang as well as their 911 Turbo, Zack returns with stories of Mexico city and I brace myself for the horrors of SEMA.I'd write a longer description however I'm posting this from SEMA and my motivation for anything beyond sleep right now is absolutely nil.
Recording on Back to the Future Day Matt arrives somewhat annoyed at the prevelance of commentary on his DeLorean. Matt's annoyance is tempered with a recent to the FIRM rally school in Florida where the guys all got turns to abuse some of their finest rally vehicles, a Miata and strangely enough a Tahoe. In addition to rallying Matt brings tales of runway racing from Shift Sector, we discuss hydraulic handbrakes, the new McLaren 570s and the new NSX.
The million mile LS400 has its first major failure, Matt covets 2 stroke mopeds and an R33 Skyline, a 740 Horsepower Golf is launched, Zack goes offroading in an E30 w/ Musto and Thad and I dread an upcoming Vegas trip.
This week your ears will be assaulted with a cacaphony of grunts, chode jokes and literary references as we welcome back our friends Mr. Regular and The Roman of Regular Car Reviews (@RegularCars). On the final evening of the Pacific Fister tour the guys drop by and we catch up on the trip, life as a burgeoning internet celebrities and project cars...
This week Matt and I sit down and attempt to escape our hectic schedules and catch up a bit. Matt got some seat time in a GT350 he also had a Lexus RC F (which we've both become big fans of) I've been hacking away at Ford Sync 3, and I may have uncovered what looks to be a proper dual clutch for the C7 manufactured by Tremec.
This week we're joined by JF Musial (@JFMusial) and we're recording on my backup analog rig. Matt reviews the Rezvani Beast, we talk about the VW diesel scandal, we cover the ATS-V, the impending rise of Volvo is foretold, Matt orders his Focus RS and I review the Logitech G920 wheel for XBox.
This week we're once again joined by Jonathon Klein (@Jonathon_Klein) of Boldride.co as Matt and Thad return with stories from the latest /Drive shoot in Japan. Matt got to spend some quality time with both R34 and R35 GTRs shortly before he and Thad were barred from entering Japanese bars on account of Tattoos, Jonathon waxes poetically about the Morgan 3 wheeler, we talk a bit about All Cars Go To Heaven 2, the new Miata is discussed and we work tubas and slide whistles into the mix as well.
It's Forza 6 launch day and the the guys are back from Texas. This week Matt and I attended the Hoonigan Donut Shop opening day, we ponder the differences between ginger based beverages, Matt drives the Sector 111 Drakan, an ATS-V is discussed, Zack entertains with stories of Burning Man, i finished the Fiesta ST build, and Matt reviews the BMW i3.
Thad, Matt and I sit down prior to their departure to film the season finalé for /Drive. Matt and I give updates on the Mustand and Fiesta projects respectively, we discuss suspenion at length touching on the merits of magnetic ride control vs. coilovers, the ATS-V and C63 are seriously impressive machines so much so that they're nipping at the heels of the Ferrari 458 and 911 GT3 and there are bargain bin Aston Martins up for the taking...
This week we're joined by "BarkM" (@BarkM302) of The Truth about Cars and our own Jeff Glucker (@JGlucker) of Hooniverse and Beer Snob. With a full 60% of the people on the podcast this week owning Fiesta STs we of course cover the virtues of these diminuitive giants. Thad hustled his Fiesta up the Virginia City Hillclimb, I completed the upgrades on my car courtesy of Mountune, Powerflex, MagnaFlow and Pierce Motorsports and "BarkM" tells us why his Boss 302 doesn't get much use...
