Too Many Podcasts! (Exploring podcasts w/ Jim the Podcast Sherpa)

I got to know alot about Jared in our cross-promotion interviews, and had a great time collaborating with him. He's got a lot of both interesting and inspiring stories on "Starve The Doubts". It's certainly worth checking out for a good lift, lesson, and a laugh. I really admire how he can take his topics and use them for inspiration. He likes to see the world succeed. Incidentally, the night we spoke, he was teaching his daughter to ride a bicycle...

Thanks for coming back for Day 2 of 2 for Too Many Podcasts! (What, you waited for me all day to show up?) Today I got to interview Matt Preston, a self-described "non-militant vegetarian" The discussions can get pretty heady-seriously. Listen to what he had to say about the rampant Facebook debate about honey. Yes, honey...the thing that sticks to everything else and never goes bad. But Matt doesn't sweat stuff like that. Doing an episode about opera and living off the land is kind of like an episode on Mother Theresa and Carrot Top. Sooooo.... sometimes my interviews may run a little short. Sometimes I may run out of questions. Sometimes, it's just time to take "my special medicine". Either way, I've created this episode of some of my shorter interviews with podcasters, and thrown a few together. They're about an average of 20 minutes each, and each one is quite different from the other. Three shows this week, Rebels, and here's Number 1!! I've got such a huge backlog of shows to edit. ( I'm almost working on Season 5 as I'm writing this)I didn't realize my interview was back in February, with Roy Worley! Roy is a great talent in the voiceover field ( I wonder how well he can do an Australian accent if Mr. Bruce gets too famous with Carl's Jr. ?)and a really great guy to know...

Day 2! I've gotta hand it to a guy like Colin Bressler. From a self-described "scaredy cat" to a director of horror movies that will scare the you-know-what out of you, he certainly has come far. I'm sure he also brings his vast knowledge of camera work from reality tv to know how to capture the right shot for his movies. What's the saying? "Truth is stranger than fiction, reality tv is scarier than a colonoscopy. " Or something like that...

Day 3!! Okay, I'll start by answering the burning question. Even though it's an audio-only podcast (for your own good) John did an excellent John Belushi eyebrow-raise-thing. After he said he auditioned for the part, I really could imagine him doing it. So now, I'm mad at that other guy who got it (unless he comes on the show, of course...) I thought he had an interesting perspective on movie-making and how movie trailers can tell you if a movie is worth it or not...sometimes...

I couldn't do a week about Amazing Women with Incredible Stories without including my very first episode with the always wonderful Allison Sharpe.! I feel that I've come pretty far in my 100 or so episodes since then, and I owe it all to guests like Allison, and listeners like you, and everyone who's helped and supported me. Yes, you! Well, maybe not that one over there who still dresses like he's in Menudo. You know who you are! Here are the first show notes for an episode that I've written...

As you will hear, Brandy is a lot of fun to talk to. Plus, I had equally as much fun as a guest on her show, "A Voice to be Reckoned With." I found her to be very straightforward and honest, with a passion for whatever she sets out to do. You might catch her Facebook videos or Tik-Tok, and that's her brain and her heart throwing 100% into her videos. AND, she a way better impressionist than I am. But then again, there are a few rotten pineapples that I can say the same thing about...

You know it's serious stuff when there's a warning in the title! Lisa's book hadn't come out as of the writing of this Sherpa Sheet, but keep an eye open for it. I found Lisa's story to be fascinating. Imagine if YOU were in her position. What would you do? Fortunately, Lisa did not face a tragic outcome, although she still deals with some bullying from people who choose to believe what they believe...
