Dans l’épisode d’aujourd’hui, de milliers de Tutsis trouvent refuge à l’École technique officielle de Kigali (ETO) où ils pensent trouver une protection auprès de la Mission d’assistance des Nations Unies pour le Rwanda. Au lieu de cela, le contingent de la MINUAR stationné à l'ETO abandonne les victimes derrière lui, ce qui a entraîné le massacre de plus de 2000 Tutsi.

Les massacres continuent à se propager et ont lieu dans les écoles, les églises et les maisons à travers le pays...

In today’s episode, thousands of Tutsis take refuge at the Official Technical School of Kigali (ETO) where they believe the UN Assistance Mission for Rwanda will keep them safe. Instead, the UNAMIR contingent stationed at ETO abandons the victims, leading to the death of over 2000 Tutsis.   Massacres continue to spread, taking place in schools, churches and homes across the country.

In today’s episode, a press release written by Bishop Thaddée Nsengiyumva of Kabgayi on behalf of Catholic bishops of Rwanda is published in Catholic Church Journal Observatore Romano. The press release expresses shock and dismay following the death of President Habyarimana and the “assassination perpetrated since that day” but makes no mention of massacres of Tutsis or names of perpetrators.

Dans l’épisode d’aujourd’hui, un communiqué de presse rédigé par Mgr Thaddée Nsengiyumva du diocèse de Kabgayi au nom des évêques catholiques du Rwanda est publié dans le Journal de l’Église catholique Observatore Romano. Ce communiqué de presse exprime le choc et la consternation suite à la mort du président Habyarimana et à une série d' «assassinats perpétrés depuis quelques jours» mais ce communiqué de presse ne fait aucune mention des massacres de Tutsi encore moins les noms des auteurs...

Meanwhile, the 4-day French operation Amaryllis evacuates foreigners and selected Rwandans including the wife and children of President Juvenal Habyarimana, leaving behind victims in the hands of killers.
