Today we start to sit up. These 4 exercises - Spine Stretch, Open Leg Rocker, Corkscrew, and Saw - work us in spine flexion, extension, and rotation. We sit, we rock & roll, we rotate the lower body with some added spine movement, and we rotate the upper body with added spine and shoulder movement.
These are SO important!

Today we have 5 exercises: single leg stretch, double leg stretch, single straight leg stretch, double leg lower lift, and criss-cross. Now we stabilize the torso and pelvis as we move the legs and arms in large ranges of motion. Such a great series!

Rolling like a ball is our first experience in full spine flexion, head to tail. It's a fun one for flexion-tolerant healthy spines, and there are many ways to modify it and even make it harder!
Rolling prepares us for much of the mat to come, and helps us teach many flexion exercises in the system, including stomach massage, short spine, tower, monkey, and others.

Oh, The Single Leg Circle, you're so simple yet so hard. This exercise works on pelvic stability, quad and hip flexor strength, and shoulder stability. In the more advanced versions, it actually works on pelvic mobility as well.
In the full studio there are tons of places to practice these - cadillac/tower, barrels, reformer. I also offer modifications and variations.
