Welcome to Season 5! So, do you love sports? Well then, my friend, you've come to the right place! Don't love sports? No worries, you'll like the podcasters for these 3 days. I had so much fun with all of them...and I'm not a big "sports guy". My strength is more in, um, napping. I'm STILL waiting for it to become an Olympic event. I'd give new meaning to "The Dream Team"! But I digress. It was a real pleasure to speak with Coach Scott...
This is a guy with dedication-and such a love of sports! Brian had such great stories of his experiences as a sportscaster. And it's WAY more than , " I showed up, I provided commentary," trust me. I liked his stories of how he met his wife, and his encounter with His Airness, Michael Jordan, himself. You might call him the Snowman, but that guy ain't gonna melt when the heat is on! He might giggle a lot (as did in this interview, but you will be entertained. The guy knows his stuff!...
This show was recorded a bit differently. These are 2 interviews recorded on Jb's end( I called into his) combined into 1 and mixed on mine. (Did you really need to know that? Well probably not, but for those of you who were wondering, there ya go!) He's a great guy to talk to and also wayyyy knowledgeable about sports. I try not to discuss issues that might be a hotbed, but I really respected Jb's answers on those pressing sports matters...
True Story: Sherpa Mom worked in my elementary school for 30 years. Do you know what it's like to be 10 and your principal is knocking on your door? (Well, maybe YOU do, Mr- Authority- doesn't- scare- me.) Actually, it makes you realize at an early age that teachers are people, just like everyone else, and they have lives, too. I'm related to (and married to 1) many teachers, and have a great respect for their field...
All the time that I was interviewing C.J. Graham, I wondered to myself "What does it take to get into the right mindset to play a homicidal maniac?" Then, I realized, well, I used to work for one, so why not draw on that? But I think it would have been really cool if C.J . was my boss, if I worked for a casino. Imagine this conversation:
Angry Patron: " Let me speak to your manager!!"
Sherpa: " Nooooo problem!"
But , C.J. was a true delight...
I really enjoyed talking to Scotty as much as I did mixing in the band's music for this episode! You can't just sit still and listen to it, although I must say my jitterbugging skills need serious repair, as do 2 lamps, a toaster oven, a nightstand, and half of my VHS collection of "Small Wonder", after I attempted to do so...
Darran Bruce strikes me as a guy who likes to be ahead of the curve. As opposed to me. who tends to trip on it, and get tangled up in it. What he says about playing copyrighted material is very important to podcasters, because so many don't know what the actual rules ae. Any music that I play on here is with consent from the artist. And Major League Baseball. Which I don't really know why, because i don't own a stadium organ. But I do have Mr...
So if it's real time, you're hearing this the day before Thanksgiving in the U.S. So, I'm guessing you're hungry already! I really learned alot from Andy and had fun doing so, talking about cooking, foodsport, and how to raise a non-neurotic duck. He's a super nice guy, whose show is well- beloved by many of the local foodies in Oregon, as well as people around the world ,who like to hear what he has to say about food and drink So give "Pardon My Fork" a listen......
I can imagine Jack, Jeremy, and Randy running the world's coolest comic book and video store, after this interview. They have a deep passion for comics, movies, video games, etc., and it really shows. They love playing games with their listeners, so check out their show for more details. I'd love to see them doing a live Q&A on their show. I doubt you could stump them, provided you stay away from Spider Man questions. (Sorry again, Randy. No control over my typing fingers...
Before we started our interview, my first words to Middagh were, "Okay, I'm jealous." To which he responded, "Of what?" Well, I won't name names, but he was in a picture standing next to an 80's rocker I've been trying to get on the show. I keep getting, "Their schedule is full." While he DOES know this rocker, unfortunately, not well enough to call them and say"Contact the Sherpa." So, sorry about that, Rebels...
