Wrapping up our first series, we've taken a trip to visit The Bicycle Academy in Frome, Somerset, to chat all things bike. The team there is best known for teaching frame building courses, and are masters of bike design across all disciplines. After geeking out about how custom bikes - and the industry in general - is changing, we also chatted to one of their alumni, framebuilder Adeline O'Moreau of Mercredi Cycles.
We're back for the second part of our winter bivvy in Oxfordshire with The Racing Collective, chatting about what happens when you take off road endurance riding to the extremes.
Bikepacking races are surging in popularity, so much so that they've even broken into WorldTour pro cycling with Rapha and EF Education First's Alternative Racing Calendar. We chatted to The Racing Collective, a group of competitive bikepackers behind the GBDURO route and many other UK-based challenges, as well as current pro cyclist and first finisher of the 2019 route, Lachlan Morton.
We're in the Peak District for episode two with Stef Amato from cycle touring specialists Pannier.cc, the route masters of Second City Divide Luke Douglas and Christian Smith, and enduro turned gravel rider and photographer Duncan Philpott.
Where as this off-road boom come from? Why is 'gravel' the current cycling buzz-word? Is it really something new? In our very first episode we join The Woods Cyclery in the New Forest for their Sunday shop ride, chatting to co-owner Tom Farrell alongside Brother Cycles co-owner Will Meyer.
In this introductory mini-episode host and producer duo Katherine Moore and Tom Bonnett explain what Unpaved Podcast is all about, and what you can expect from the first series of four episodes.
